'Guillaume Dufay was the composer charged with writing music for the Duomo's consecration ceremony on 25 March 1436' (I)['Nuper Rosarum Flores' [A Rosa Desabrocha].
'No only do the mensurations in the four sections have a proportional relationship of 6:4:3:2 [like the cathedral and its dome], but the number of tactus in each of the sections is the same as the number of braccia [the Florentine unit of measure] contained in the modular scheme based on twenty-eight braccia squares... What is more, there are twenty-eight breves in each of the two-voice and four-voice subsections of the motet, which means that the 'module' of the motet is the same as that of the catedral'. (II)
